Hello and welcome to my kitchen! Shruti’s Kitchen is a cooking website that offers Indian and multicultural recipes. The focus is to provide recipes that are fast and easy to replicate – allowing busy families to spend more time together.

I was born in India and moved to America when I was only 2 years old.  Raised in the midwest, I moved south after marrying my husband and have lived here for 23 years. I like to think I have the best of two worlds. My education, upbringing and outlook are strongly grounded in American values, but are colored and enhanced by the cultural influences of my Indian Heritage.

Cooking became a passion after my 3 children came along – my youngest is a passionate and avid baker and home cook and continues to inspire me both in the kitchen and out. His insistence on using the best and freshest ingredients infuses all my recipes.

The core of Indian food can be found in the fragrant and pungent spices, seeds and herbs that provide huge amounts of flavor. But most Indian food doesn’t need a laundry list of ingredients to taste good – my goal is to take some of the mystery out of the cuisine and make it more approachable.
